EVENT: Sentry Tournament of Champions (Thurs-Sun)
WHY WE’LL WATCH: The PGA Tour’s Opening Day occurs at a golfing paradise that can yield crazy-low scores, depending on the trade winds️. Cam Smith set a PGA Tour record last year by finishing 34-under. Plus it’s a “designated” event with a stronger field (17 of world’s top 20) and larger purse.
COURSE INFO: The open-to-the-public Plantation Course at Kapalua is a 7,600-yard, par-73 that features 93 bunkers and massive elevation changes.
THE FAVES: Jon Rahm (+650), Scottie Scheffler (+900) and Patrick Cantlay (+1000) lead the way. Rory McIlroy opted out with no explanation.
BET TO CONSIDER: Rahm Top 5 (+130). He shot 33-under last year and is 5-for-5 in Top 10s.
