IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY…

April 6, 2023

Who will cut down the nets next April? Here are teams leading the way in PointsBet’s 2024 college basketball title futures.

Duke (+1000): Will Jon Scheyer break through in year two? The Blue Devils have a stacked incoming freshmen class that features five five-star recruits.

Connecticut (+1000): The Huskies opened at +9000 to win the title last year, and those days are long gone.

Kentucky (+1200): The Wildcats have the best freshmen class in the country, thanks to master talent compiler John Calipari landing the two top recruits (Justin Edwards and D.J. Wagner).

Kansas (+1500): The Jayhawks are only one season removed from a national title, but we don’t envy anyone who has to go through the Big 12 gauntlet.

Marquette (+1500): The Big East champs emerged as one of the best teams in the country with Shaka Smart at the helm and Tyler Kolek running point.

Purdue (+2000): The only other No. 1 seed that lost to a No. 16 seed won the national championship the following season. Just saying …

Alabama (+2000): Alabama isn’t just a football school anymore, but just how much will the Crimson Tide miss projected top-5 pick Brandon Miller?

Houston (+2000): The Cougars have been analytical darlings, as they’re the only team to finish in KenPom’s top-5 ratings in each of the past three campaigns.

Michigan State (+2000): Fade Tom Izzo at your own risk. The longtime coach has taken his Spartans to a record 25 straight NCAA tournaments.

Editor’s Note: Looking for a juicy longshot? Colorado is slated to bring back two All-Pac-12 players (Tristan da Silva, KJ Simpson) as well as add a top-10 recruit (Cody Williams) and impact transfer (Eddie Lampkin). That’s easily worth the gamble at +10000.
