EVENT: RBC Canadian Open (Thurs-Sun)
WHY WE’LL WATCH: Many of the PGA Tour’s best will be in action north of the border, giving us a poutine-level appetizer for next week’s U.S. Open.
COURSE INFO: This is the first time the Oakdale Golf & CC in Toronto has hosted the event, which tips at 7,271 yards. It features a mix of Bent and Poa grass as well as small greens that reward accurate approach shots and precise putting. Golfers️♂️ also need to avoid Black Creek, which runs through the course.
FAVES: Two-time defending Canadian Open champ Rory McIlroy (+550) is the favorite after finishing T7 at the Memorial. Will the LIV-related strife affect his game? Tyrrell Hatton is next (+1100), followed by Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young and Sam Burns (all +1400).
BET TO CONSIDER: Shane Lowry Top-20 Finish (+105)
Lowry has three straight top-12 finishes in the event, including a runner-up in 2019. He’s hitting the ball well and ranks 16th in Strokes Gained Tee to Green.
