HEATING UP

MARQUEE MATCHUP: PART ONE

All four matchups between the Heat and Hawks were decided by eight points or fewer.

Hawks @ Heat (-5); Total 228

TIP-OFF: 7:30 p.m. ET

KEY FACTS: These teams are on opposite ends of the points spectrum. Miami ranked dead last in scoring (109.5 PPG) but gave up the second-fewest (109.8). Atlanta ranked third in scoring (118.4 PPG) yet surrendered the fifth-most (118.1).

TRENDING: The Heat are 27-14 at home but just 15-25-1 ATS. Both teams have trended toward higher-scoring games; the Over is 5-0 in Miami’s last five while it’s 4-0-1 for Atlanta.

INSIGHTS: While the Heat have nabbed 59% of the tickets to cover the spread, the underdog Hawks have reeled in 71% of the handle. This total has risen from 226 to 228, with 69% of the handle on the over.

EXPERT PICKS

Jon Eimer gets the day started with a pick from a massive UCL showdown. Ariel Epstein and Kazeem 'Kaz' Famuyide bring us home.

THE SOCCER GUY

SGP (-120): Manchester City-Bayern Munich Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score [3 p.m. ET]
"While the theme for 1st legs in the UCL has been goal-shy, I find that hard to continue with two of the best attacking teams in the world. Manchester City have been in form and with Erling Haaland leading the charge, I expect goals."

THE NBA GURU

Hawks ML (+165) @ Heat [7:30 p.m. ET]
"Despite all the ups and downs Atlanta has had, I like Trae Young to get hot in a one-game spot. I think he leads the Hawks to the upset."

THE PROP QUEEN

Tigers @ Blue Jays: Blue Jays -1.5 (-145) [7:07 p.m. ET]
“Toronto's Alek Manoah is 5-1 with a 1.54 ERA in his last 10 starts. On the flip side, Matt Manning’s home/road splits are stark – 4.94 ERA on the road and 2.52 at home.”
David Peterson Under 4.5 K’s (+115) [7:10 p.m. ET]
“Southpaws facing the Padres have only averaged 3 strikeouts per start, with the under going 3-1 on their K props."

WOUNDED WOLVES

MARQUEE MATCHUP: PART TWO

PointsBet Creative

Timberwolves (+8.5) @ Lakers; Total 233

TIP-OFF: 10 p.m. ET

KEY FACTS: The Lakers overcame injuries and dysfunction to finish 9-2 and snag the West’s No. 7 seed. The Timberwolves closed with three wins but are embroiled in controversy. The team suspended Rudy Gobert tonight after he punched teammate Kyle Anderson, and Jaden McDaniels broke his hand punching a wall.

TRENDING: The Timberwolves are 9-3 in their last 12 on the road. The Over has hit in eight straight Lakers games. Both team rank in the top 7 in tempo.

INSIGHTS: The line moved from 7 to 7.5 on Gobert’s suspension. Now it’s 8.5. Team LeBron has been getting strong action, garnering 85% of the spread handle and 93% of the moneyline cash.

AWARD TOUR

MAKE THE CASE‍⚖️

Yordan Alvarez finished third in AL MVP voting last season despite missing 27 games.

Shohei Ohtani has the shortest odds (+175) for any MLB awards future. For more value, here are some of the names we’re looking at for AL MVP.

Aaron Judge (+600): The reigning MVP is off to a hot start with four homers through his first 10 games — a 65-homer pace.

Yordan Alvarez (+900): The best hitter on the defending World Series champs already has an MLB-high 16 RBIs in just 10 games.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+1000): He’s done nothing but rake since Opening Day, slashing .439/.510/.610. He’s looking like the 2021 version of Guerrero, not 2022.

Julio Rodriguez (+1200): The sky’s the limit after his phenomenal rookie campaign, especially if he can take advantage of the new rules and steal even more bases.

Adley Rutschman (+2000): It’s not hard to envision Rutschman winning the award if he has a Buster Posey-type season and leads the Orioles to the playoffs.

Wander Franco (+2200): With four homers in 10 games, Franco appears to be making the leap to superstardom in Year 3.

MASTERS HANGOVER?

POWER RANKINGS️‍♂️

Jordan Spieth is looking to be the first golfer to repeat at Harbour Town since Boo Weekley in 2007-08.

Rory McIlroy skipped out, but the RBC Heritage field is loaded with nearly 50 players who made the short trip from Augusta, Ga. Here’s a look at the top of our board:

  • Scottie Scheffler (+750): Put on a stripe show during much of the Masters but couldn’t putt well enough to finish better than T-10.
  • Jon Rahm (+900): If it gets chilly this week, we suspect we know what garment Rahm will drape over his shoulders.
  • Patrick Cantlay (+1100): Are we sure he’s not still standing over that putt on 11?
  • Collin Morikawa (+1800): Looked solid at Augusta (T-10) and he’s 3-for-3 in made cuts at Harbour Town.
  • Jordan Spieth (+2000): Last year’s champ is back to defend his title. Coming in hot off a final-round 68 at the Masters.
  • Cameron Young (+2000): His bad shots at Augusta were off the planet.
  • Justin Thomas (+2500): State of his game is a mystery after second-round meltdown at Augusta.
  • Viktor Hovland (+2500): Faded to T-7 after that opening 65 last week. Always a blast to watch.
  • Xander Schauffele (+2500): Returns to Harbour Town after a two-year absence.
