HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM POINTSBET!❄️
IN THIS ISSUE
THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: A rainy forecast in NJ, a shifting line
EXPERT PICKS: Jay and Ryan have some Thursday thoughts
POWER HOUR: Santa dropping Free Bets into your account!
HUSTLE BOOST: The New York Sack Exchange is open for biz
KEY STATS: A fascinating line. Even with money pouring in on Jax, the line has flipped from Jets -1 to Jags -1.5 to Jets -2.5. (Our traders are wary of sharp action on the J-E-T-S.) The Jags are surging after their sensational rally against the Cowboys – a 33-point explosion in the second half/OT. The Jets, losers of three straight one-score games, need Zach Wilson to stop doing dumb stuff.
TRENDING: Jacksonville is 2-8-1 ATS in its last 11 road contests, and New York has covered in five of its last six coming off a loss. The total has fallen because of a gloomy️ forecast.
EXPERT PICKS
PointsBet studio host Ryan Leaf is back! He and NBC lead betting analyst Jay Croucher offer their best plays on TNF and the Saturday slate.
THE BRAIN
Jags-Jets Under 36.5 (-107)
"The Jets have a top-2 defense, and with Zach Wilson at QB, this is a recipe for Under in the rain."
49ers -7 over Commanders (-105)
"Taylor Heinicke has no prayer against an elite SF defense."
THE BIG NAME
Jags +1.5 over Jets (-107)
"Trevor Lawrence is playing as well as any quarterback -- and the Jets' QB situation is less than desirable."
Bengals -3 over Patriots (-115)
"The AFC's best team rolls against a very lost team in New England."
PointsBet is celebrating the holidays with FIVE DAYS OF FREE BETS, starting Thursday. Naughty or nice? Doesn’t matter. Check your account every day at 1 p.m. ET. (Good for all states but NY.)
How about an 11-game lineup to stuff your stocking? Three highlights:
Best shot for an upset: Giants (+185 ML) @ Vikings. The Cousins Crew might still be hungover from last week’s miracle win that clinched the division. The Giants are fighting for a playoff spot. Motivational edge: New York.
Tiniest total: 32 (Saints-Browns) – The O/U could be less than the wind️ strength (25-35 MPH) whipping around Cleveland. It also promises to be the lowest total since Bengals-Browns in 2008. (A 14-0 Cincy win.)
All eyes on: Eagles (+6) @ Cowboys – The home team is 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings, so that’s a good sign for Dallas against a Jalen Hurts-less Philadelphia.
Jalen Hurts’ sprained shoulder opens the door for The Gardner Minshew Experience and for bettors to throw their currency on other players:
Patrick Mahomes+170 ➡️ -300: His brilliance knows no bounds. Connected on 36 of 41 passes against Houston and the Chiefs needed all of them.
Jalen Hurts-145 ➡️ +400: Got as high as +550 even though Hurts’ value could be proven if Philly stumbles.
Josh Allen +1000 ➡️ +600: Does the MVP tiebreaker include head-to-head? If so, he beat Mahomes and can take out Joe Burrow in Week 16.
Joe Burrow +1100 ➡️ +700: Things could get verrrry interesting if Cincy closes with nine straight victories. (Final three foes: Pats, Bills and Ravens.)
The quintuple-header that begins at 12 p.m. ET Sunday will allow you to avoid awkward convos with your least favorite uncle. A quick look-ahead (lines are TBD):
76ers vs. Knicks: Two of the league’s hottest teams have lost just four combined games in December.
Lakers vs. Mavericks: L.A. has the second-worst ATS record in the Western Conference. The worst? Dallas.
Bucks vs. Celtics: Does good offense beat good ‘D’? Boston ranks 2nd in scoring, and Milwaukee allows the 4th fewest.
Grizzlies vs. Warriors: Golden State leads the NBA in one category – hitting the Over.
Suns vs. Nuggets: Get the ball to Jokic. And if he’s not open, get the ball to Jokic.
