ACTION REPORT

PointsBet Creative

We are officially less than a month away from the NFL regular season kicking off. To help speed ???? up things during the home stretch, we have our daily NFL betting reports. We’ll be highlighting the betting action for individual teams in four Hustles per week, sorting them out by division.

We continue NFC West week with the Seahawks.

SUPER BOWL
Odds: Opened +8000 (T-26th), currently +3000 (13th)
Action: 2.2% tickets (15th), 1.6% handle (16th)

WIN TOTAL
Odds: 8.5 (Over -170, Under +140)
Action: OVER 84% tickets, OVER 82% handle

DIVISION
Odds: Opened +450 (3rd), currently +190 (2nd)
Action: 46.7% tickets (1st), 35.4% handle (2nd)
*The Seahawks have more than twice as many bets to win the NFC West than any other division foe

PERUSING THE PLAYERS

???? Geno Smith came out of nowhere ???? to win Comeback Player of the Year last season. Are bettors taking him seriously now as an MVP candidate? Smith opened at +4000 for MVP and has come down slightly to +3300, where he currently has the 14th-lowest odds. He ranks 15th in handle at 1.1%.

???? Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the first wideout off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft after the Seahawks took him with the No. 20 pick. JSN also has the lowest odds of any receiver (and sixth overall) to win Offensive Rookie of the Year at +1400. The former Ohio State star ⭐ has collected 11.2% of the tickets (4th) but only 3.4% of the handle (7th).

EXPERT PICKS

Ariel Epstein is keying in on one game for both of her top plays in this upcoming MLB slate. Meanwhile, ESPN golf analyst Michael Collins is rolling with a BMW Championship sleeper for his outright pick.

THE PROP QUEEN

Reds Over 1.5 Runs in First 3 Innings (+105) vs. Guardians [6:40 p.m. ET]
“Opponents’ F3 over 1.5 has cashed in five of Noah Syndergaard’s seven road outings. Thor has surrendered a .381 batting average the first time through the lineup.”
Reds SP Andrew Abbott Under 5.5 K’s (+100)
“The Guardians have the second-lowest K-rate against southpaws. In fact, lefty starters are only averaging 3.9 strikeouts against them.”

THE CADDIE

BMW Championship: Rickie Fowler to Win (+3500)
"He's coming into this week a little bit under the radar, but he needs to put a stamp on his Ryder Cup case. This course sets up really well for Rickie and I love him at this number."

FORE BIG PAYOUTS

LOVELY LONGSHOTS ♂️

PointsBet Creative

It can be hard to find longshots in a 50-man field of elite players. But let’s have OG editor Teddy Greenstein look ???? at some intriguing outright options and value plays in other markets:

⛳ Max Homa (+3500): His game is trending (T6 last week in Memphis) and his trusty fade is what’s needed at Olympia Fields. (See: Rahm, Jon.)

⛳ Lucas Glover (+4500): A PGA Tour three-peat would be positively Jordan-esque ????. If you want to hedge, consider a top 5 (+800).

⛳ Sahith Theegala (+10000): The IL big bet client above is hoping Theegala can turn it around after a recent CUT-CUT-CUT stretch. At least he broke 70 in all four rounds last week.

⛳ Patrick Cantlay, Round 1 leader (+1600): A hot golfer who loves tough tracks and should enter with some steam after failing to close ❌ in Memphis.

⛳ [WINNER WITHOUT] Viktor Hovland (+1200): The elite ball-striker feasts on long par 4s and finished 64-65-69 last week. This betting market eliminates Rahm, Cantlay, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler from the competition.

⛳ Eric Cole, Top 5 (+1800): The veteran “rookie” ranks as the top putter in the field.

Corey Conners — Top Canadian (+140) @ BMW Championship

“Olympia Fields is one of the most demanding tracks off the tee with tree-lined ???? fairways measuring an average of only 26 yards in width. Conners ranks 16th on tour in strokes gained off the tee and his recent good form (just shot 65-65 on the weekend) should give him an edge over the other three Canadians in the field.”
