🤔 ASK THE TRADER: Why did one NFL playoff total shift 4 points?

🔥 EXPERT PICKS: We head to the hardwood with NBA and CBB

📋 COACHES CORNER: Was Saban or Belichick better at covering?

🏙️ UPSET CITY: CBB top-10 teams have dropped like flies this week

The NFL playoffs kick off in just a few days and the odds have been bouncing around all week. The most noticeable 👀 shift has come in Steelers at Bills, but for the total.

After Steelers-Bills opened at 40.5, it has come crashing down ⬇️ all the way to 36.5. It even resided at one point at 35.5 before creeping back up to its current position. Yet, this contest has drawn the most over money among the six upcoming NFL playoff games.

We brought in trader Wyatt Satre to discuss why this total has dropped and why he thinks the over has been drawing strong action.

ASK THE TRADER: I think this total shifted a good amount mostly due to weather, but mixed in with sharper bettors also betting the number down. There are sustained winds of 25 MPH with a chance of snow projected in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon. Yet, most of the action has come in on the over because bettors have seen Josh Allen come into form in recent games and Mason Rudolph has been a pleasant surprise for Pittsburgh’s offense.

Ryan Elmalem has his eye on an NBA player prop, while Max Meyer is buying low on a struggling Pac-12 team.

Thunder G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 5.5 Assists (-145) [8 p.m. ET]
"SGA is playing MVP-level basketball and his supporting cast is filling out roles appropriately. Shai has hit 6+ assists in 8 of his last 10 games and I expect him to dish it out against a young Blazers team."

UCLA +8.5 (-110) at Utah [9 p.m. ET]
“UCLA has lost eight of its last nine games, but none of them were by double-digit margins. Adem Bona is one of the few Pac-12 bigs that can hold his own down low against Utah’s Branden Carlson. I think we’ll get a strong effort from UCLA with Mick Cronin under fire.”

In Bill Belichick's final season in New England, only the Falcons (5-12) finished with a worse ATS mark than the Patriots (5-11-1).

It’s been an insane 24 hours in the football coaching world, as legends Bill Belichick and Nick Saban have each stepped down from their current posts.

Obviously you know each of their accolades, but how about how they fared at covering? Let’s check out whether Belichick with the Patriots or Saban with Alabama had the better mark ✅ against the spread.

Belichick (only with Patriots): 235-182-12 ATS (56.4%)

Saban (only with Alabama): 127-103-4 ATS (55.2%)

It’s been a tough start to 2024 😬 for the best teams in college basketball. In just the past two days, five top-10 teams have lost to unranked foes.

Will we see a sixth fall tonight? No. 10 Illinois faces Michigan State at 9 p.m. ET, however unlike the previous five top-10 teams that were defeated, the Illini are playing at home.

The spread has dropped from Illinois -4 to -3.5, as Michigan State has drawn the second-most handle 💵 to cover the spread among all CBB teams tonight—Alabama A&M (now +1.5) is tops against Alcorn State.

Additionally, among all moneyline bets for this Big Ten battle, Michigan State (+130) has brought in 58.6% of the handle despite Illinois (-160) collecting 79.0% of the tickets. Among all CBB underdogs tonight, only Santa Clara (+310 vs. Gonzaga) has captured more handle to pull off the upset than Sparty.
