AWARD TOUR

ACTION REPORT 📊

Fanatics Sportsbook Presented by PointsBet creative

Travis Kelce entered the history books last weekend after breaking Jerry Rice’s record for most career playoff receptions 😮. Can he make history again by becoming the first tight end ever to win Super Bowl MVP?

Bettors certainly believe so, as Kelce has received the most tickets for Super Bowl MVP. Kelce was as high as +1750 for the award but is now down to +1100.

Kelce leads the way with 22.9% of the tickets among all Super Bowl MVP bets placed, followed by Christian McCaffrey (+460) at 18.8% and Patrick Mahomes (+120) at 17.4%.

The future Hall of Fame tight end has also drawn major attention for one of his props. The player prop bet that has drawn the most money for Super Bowl LVIII has been Kelce over 70.5 receiving yards. Among all bets on Kelce’s receiving yards prop, the over has come away with 99.9% of the handle 💵.

EXPERT PICKS

Who's ready to crash the glass? Ariel Epstein and Ryan Elmalem are both rolling with a rebounding prop.

THE PROP QUEEN

Hawks C Clint Capela Over 9.5 Rebounds (-130) [7:30 p.m. ET]
“Capela has gone over this number in four of his past six games. The Hawks and Lakers both have bad perimeter defenses, meaning a lot of threes could go up and there will be ample rebounding opportunities.”
Celtics First Half -5.5 (-105) vs. Pacers [7:30 p.m. ET]
“The Celtics are 15-7-1 against the spread in first halves at home this season. The Pacers have allowed the second-most points in first halves in road games.”

THE GRAPHICS GUY

Bulls C Nikola Vucevic Over 11.5 Rebounds (-140) [8 p.m. ET]
"Since losing Jakob Poeltl, Toronto has been one of the NBA's worst rebounding teams. Poeltl is a GTD, but Vuc has bullied the Raptors on the glass in the past and should again with or without an injured Poeltl."

MVP MADNESS

MARKET MOVERS 📈

Fanatics Sportsbook Presented by PointsBet data and insights

Just last week, Joel Embiid notched a 70-point game and saw his NBA MVP odds swing all the way to +120—which was tied for the shortest price for any player this season.

Now Embiid’s MVP candidacy may be in danger 😬 because of a new rule the NBA implemented ahead of this campaign. In order for any player to qualify for season awards like MVP, he must appear in at least 65 games.

Nikola Jokic became the NBA MVP favorite on Jan. 27 after the Nuggets’ 6-point win over the 76ers. Jokic shifted from +200 to +180, while Embiid’s price went from +120 to +200 due to missing that contest with left knee soreness.

Embiid had a more drastic shift following Monday’s news that he would sit out against the Trail Blazers, as he rose from +210 to +400. That was his 12th missed game, meaning he can only miss five more for the rest of the season to still remain eligible for MVP 🏆. The 76ers play another game tonight against the Warriors.

After his latest move, Embiid isn’t even in the second spot anymore for MVP. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has taken over that position at +350, with Jokic still on top at +115.

UNUSUAL UNDERDOGS

BACK TO SCHOOL 🏫

Fanatics Sportsbook Presented by PointsBet data and insights

It’s always an interesting sight when a college basketball matchup has a top-25 team as an underdog to an unranked foe 🤔.

There are two such contests tonight, with No. 9 Marquette +2 at Villanova and No. 23 Oklahoma +3 at Kansas State.

Both spreads have moved in the unranked teams’ favor. Villanova opened at -1.5 before creeping up half a point to its current -2 position. Meanwhile, Kansas State was as low as -2.5 before climbing up to -3.

Kansas State has brought in the most money of any college basketball team to cover the spread today, followed by Villanova. In fact, Kansas State has collected over three times more spread money than any other team outside of Villanova 🤯.

If you were curious, unranked favorites are 15-9 straight up this season against ranked underdogs, but only 12-12 against the spread.
