Michigan is currently the college football national title favorite at +210, with Georgia close behind at +260.
The stakes don’t get much higher in college football than No. 3 Michigan at No. 10 Penn State this upcoming Saturday. This top-10 showdown is getting major action, especially on the total.
Despite the over reeling in 58.7% of the tickets, the under has captured a whopping 94.6% of the handle 💵.
Not only is the Michigan-Penn State under drawing the most money of any college football total bet, it also has received more handle than any NFL total bet 🤯.
We brought in trader Wyatt Satre to explain why this under has been generating such strong action.
ASK THE TRADER: People remember the Penn State-Ohio State game a few weeks ago when Drew Allar had a poor showing against a strong defense. While Ohio State is third in CFB in points allowed per drive, Michigan is even better since the Wolverines are No. 1 in that metric. The total was originally bet up from 43.5 to 46, but then we started seeing sharper action. Now the total has been sitting at 45 for the past 24 hours or so.
Ryan Leaf has plays on the total and a Panthers tailback for TNF, while Kazeem "Kaz" Famuyide has us covered for NBA.
Panthers at Bears: Under 38 Points (-110) [8:15 p.m. ET]
“The offensive output by both teams over the past couple weeks has been minimal. I think both rookie QBs will continue to struggle.”
Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard Over 12.5 Rush Attempts (-115)
“Over the past 3 games, Hubbard has averaged nearly 17 carries per game. After all the mistakes Bryce Young made last week, I expect Hubbard to be the focal point of the offense tonight.”
THE NBA GURU
Pacers G Tyrese Haliburton Over 33.5 Points + Assists (-115) [7 p.m. ET]
“The Pacers lead the NBA in offensive rating, led by Haliburton’s strong play. The Damian Lillard era has seen the Bucks struggle with defending backcourt stars.”
Magic F Paolo Banchero Over 22.5 Points (+100) [9:30 p.m. ET]
“Banchero has averaged nearly 26 points in his past three games and I like his matchup tonight against De’Andre Hunter. In a key division battle, Orlando will look to Banchero to provide scoring punch.”
Great news: You can take advantage of TNF with a BONUS BET on us 😃! If you’re trying to figure out how to use it, we have a suggestion.
Here at the Hustle, we share noteworthy betting action every single edition. So we turned it into a parlay that is now being offered every TNF and MNF.
The “Hustle’s People Parlay” will feature the game’s three most popular player prop bets by tickets from your fellow bettors. Instead of trusting one person’s opinion, we’re rolling with the opinion of thousands 🧠.
After the “Hustle’s People Parlay” cashed last TNF, let’s make it two Thursdays in a row.
For tonight’s clash between the Panthers and Bears, the most popular player props by tickets are Adam Thielen anytime touchdown, Cole Kmet 20+ receiving yards and D.J. Moore 35+ receiving yards. The “Hustle’s People Parlay” pays out +340 and you can find it already built on the betting app homepage up until kickoff.
PointsBet: A Fanatics Experience data and insights
OPENING KICKOFF: 8:15 p.m. ET
KEY FACTS: The Panthers have the NFL’s worst spread record this season, going 1-6-1 against the number 🤢. Prop bettors may find this interesting: Chicago has given up the most receiving yards to running backs per game, over 10 yards more than the next-closest team (Bears 64.2, Chargers 53.3).
MAKING MOVES: The Bears opened as 3-point home favorites and have been bet up to -3.5. The total has been the bigger mover, though, dropping from 41 to 38. After all, unders have gone 22-7 in night games 😳 this campaign.
TOP PROPS: Many bettors are expecting a bounce-back game for Panthers wideout Adam Thielen, as Thielen anytime touchdown has gotten the most tickets of any player prop.
The player prop leader in handle is the over for Chuba Hubbard rushing yards. After it was as low as 35.5, Hubbard’s rushing yards prop is now up to 40.5. Among all bets placed on Hubbard rushing yards, the over has racked up 85.9% of the tickets and 91.6% of the handle.
