📊 ACTION REPORT: Two double-digit dogs are popular plays vs. ranked teams

🔥 EXPERT PICKS: Ryan Leaf is rolling with two big underdogs to make noise

🏫 BACK TO SCHOOL: Are bettors backing Michigan or Penn State to cover?

🧑‍⚖️ MAKE THE CASE: Two CFB underdogs that we like to win outright

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?

ACTION REPORT 📊

Arizona is one of three CFB teams to have only 1 loss against the spread this season, along with UNLV and Oregon.

There were eight top-25 teams that lost last week, including three of them to unranked foes. Will we see any major upsets this weekend?

Bettors are backing three underdogs 🐶 to cover against ranked favorites in Week 11. Two of them are getting double-digit points, while the other is featured in a contest set to make betting history.

90.5% of handle on Miami FL (+14.5) at No. 4 Florida State
The Hurricanes have been an underdog in three games this season and won two of them outright. And we have a feeling that last season’s 45-3 drubbing by the Seminoles is still on the Hurricanes’ minds.

89.3% of handle on Colorado (+10) vs. No. 21 Arizona
Colorado has only won one game since September, however the Buffaloes have been making bettors money 💰 in this spot. They’ve covered four of five as double-digit underdogs to ranked teams, including the last two weeks.

54.9% of handle on Rutgers (+1.5) at No. 22 Iowa
The spread has ticked down from Iowa -2 to -1.5, however the more interesting movement is on the total. After it was the lowest opener ever at 29, it’s still come down to 27.5. That will make Rutgers-Iowa the first college football game ever to have a total close in the 20s 🤯.

EXPERT PICKS

Ryan Leaf and Max Meyer have three big underdogs they like to cover today, along with one short home favorite.

THE SIGNAL-CALLER

Georgia Tech +14.5 (-110) at Clemson [12 p.m. ET]
“The Tigers are coming off a huge win over Notre Dame where they stormed the field. Now they get a Georgia Tech team that has pulled off a couple big upsets this season. This seems like too many points in a potential letdown spot for Clemson.”
Utah +8 (-110) at Washington [3:30 p.m. ET]
“I think Utah and that defense can keep it close here. If there’s one thing to know about betting Pac-12, you don’t want to fade Kyle Whittingham very often.”

THE SENIOR EDITOR

Temple +7 (-105) at USF [12 p.m. ET]
“Temple is a completely different team with a healthy E.J. Warner at QB. A touchdown is a lot to lay for a USF defense that has given up at least 56 points in three of its past four games.”
California -2 (-110) vs. Washington State [4 p.m. ET]
“Both teams are 1-5 in Pac-12 play. But Wazzu has lost the past two weeks to two other teams in the basement (ASU, Stanford) while all five of Cal’s conference losses were to teams in the upper half of the Pac-12 standings. Cal has a potent ground game and Wazzu’s defense has struggled to limit explosive runs.”

Senior editor Max Meyer will be sharing his favorite moneyline underdog 🐶 upset picks in weekend Hustle editions. So far, he’s up +3.98 units (9-13 record) and he has two upset picks from today’s college football slate.

UCF +115 vs. Oklahoma State [3:30 p.m. ET]
Oklahoma State continued its magical 🪄 run this season by upsetting Oklahoma in the final Bedlam before the Sooners head to the SEC. The game after Bedlam has been tricky recently for Oklahoma State, as it’s only won once the past six times in that spot. The Cowboys head to the Bounce House to face a UCF team that needs to win 2 of its final 3 games for bowl eligibility. UCF’s 4-5 record is a bit deceiving since four of those losses came without starting QB John Rhys Plumlee. Oklahoma State has allowed two Big 12 QBs to rush for more than 100 yards, and Plumlee’s legs are a major threat to that defense.

New Mexico State +165 at Western Kentucky [3:30 p.m. ET]
Jerry Kill has done a remarkable job with New Mexico State’s program. He has this team knocking on the C-USA title game door in just his second season. The Aggies have won and covered their last five C-USA contests, led by dual-threat QB Diego Pavia. Pavia has run for at least 60 yards in eight of his past nine games and he’s facing a WKU defense that has surrendered the sixth-most rushing yards in CFB. Even with Austin Reed back under center, Western Kentucky’s offense has gone from 6.7 yards per play last season (12th in CFB) to 5.8 this campaign (62nd) 😬.
