ACTION REPORT

PointsBet Creative

We’ve crossed the halfway point of July, and the NFL season continues to inch closer. To help speed up the timeline, we have our daily NFL betting reports. We’ll be highlighting the betting action for individual teams in four Hustles per week, sorting them out by division.

We begin AFC West week with the Super Bowl champion Chiefs.

SUPER BOWL
Odds: Opened +500 (1st), currently +700 (1st)
Action: 11.1% tickets (2nd), 7.4% handle (4th)

WIN TOTAL
Odds: 11.5 (Over -140, Under +115)
Action: OVER 89% tickets, OVER 67% handle

DIVISION
Odds: Opened -155 (1st), currently -165 (1st)
Action: 60.0% tickets (1st), 63.2% handle (1st)

PERUSING THE PLAYERS

Patrick Mahomes opened atop the board at +650 to be awarded NFL MVP for the third time in his career. He’s stayed put at that price the entire time, though Joe Burrow (opened +700) just joined him as a +650 co-favorite this past weekend. The Chiefs gunslinger has collected 7.9% of the tickets (4th) and 8.1% of the handle (5th) in this market.

For Offensive Player of the Year, one other Chief is tied with Mahomes (+2400) for the most bets on the team. Nope, it’s not Travis Kelce (+3000). It’s actually tailback Isiah Pacheco, who sits all the way up at +10000 for OPOY.

EXPERT PICKS

Ariel Epstein is rolling with two from the diamond, including her first Moonshot Monday of the season! Daniel Parisi has his pick for the NBA Summer League championship.

THE PROP QUEEN

MOONSHOT MONDAY: Dodgers' Freddie Freeman Over 0.5 HRs (+500) [7:05 p.m. ET]
"Camden Yards is an easier park for lefties and he crushes fastballs. Orioles starter Grayson Rodriguez has allowed 13 homers this year, with 9 coming on fastballs."
Marlins moneyline (-110) @ Cardinals [7:45 p.m. ET]
"St. Louis is the least profitable MLB home team on the moneyline. Cardinals righty Miles Mikolas has an ERA above 5 at home, and the Marlins are sixth in RBIs from the seventh inning on."

THE AGREEABLE ACE

NBA Summer League: Cavaliers -2.5 (-110) vs. Rockets [9 p.m. ET]
"Led by Isaiah Mobley, the Cavs will be too big on the interior. They also have the wings to slow down the red-hot Cam Whitmore."

YANKS ABOUT TO TANK?

MARKET MOVERS

PointsBet Creative

The Yankees now find themselves with the Red Sox in the AL East basement after losing 2 of 3 to lowly Rockies. That was capped off yesterday by the Yankees’ first loss ever after having multiple leads of 2+ runs in the 8th inning or later.

Yet, only five teams currently have lower World Series odds than the Bronx Bombers. If New York fans are panicking so much, why aren’t betting markets? Let’s find out with Trading Content Manager Michael Veneziano.

ASK THE TRADER: “We just moved the Yankees’ World Series odds this morning from +1400 to +1800, their longest of the season. Even with how disappointing they’ve been, they’re still only 2 games back of the Wild Card. Add in the fact that they’ll probably make some acquisitions in the coming weeks, and that’s why their price hasn’t fully tanked yet. But they’re now favored to miss the playoffs (-120) for the first time all season.”

POWER RANKINGS️‍♂️

PointsBet Data and Insights

The year’s final major is upon us! Who will romp at Royal Liverpool? Here are the faves.

Rory McIlroy (+650): Back-to-back closing birdies to win The Scottish cemented him as the king of links golf — for now.

Scottie Scheffler (+650): He seems incapable of not contending every time he shows up. Seven straight top-5s!

Jon Rahm (+1200): Has cooled off since his Masters win. Namely, T50 at the PGA, T10 at the U.S. Open and a missed cut at the Travelers.

Cameron Smith (+1600): The defending champ could probably break 80 using only his putter.

Brooks Koepka (+2000): Juicy price considering how he slays majors. Brooksie is gunning for his sixth.

Rickie Fowler (+2200): Hard to believe this is the same Fowler who missed the Masters field in April.

Viktor Hovland (+2200): The ball-striking wunderkind is hungry for his first major victory after placing T7 or better in three of his last four majors.
