Monitoring odds shifts is key for betting any sport, and the NFL is no exception. Take last night for example, as the Vikings opened at +7 against the Eagles and closed at +5.5. Philadelphia won 34-28, meaning the difference between a winning Vikings bet and a losing one was when ⌚ you bet Minnesota.

There have been many other noteworthy odds shifts so far for Week 2, however one contest has had the biggest spread and total movement on the entire slate. We called on trader Ryan Shapiro to help explain the Browns-Steelers moves for spread (Browns -1 to Browns -2.5) and total (42.5 to 38.5).

ASK THE TRADER: The Steelers came into the season with big expectations, but a blowout loss to the 49ers and a few key injuries have really slowed down the hype. The Cam Heyward loss stings in particular against the Browns given how important he is to Pittsburgh’s run defense. The Browns completely shut down Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense, while Deshaun Watson could continue to struggle against a solid Steelers defense that got embarrassed 😳 last weekend. Given the talent on both defenses, it’s not a surprise to see this become a publicly backed under.
