MAKE THE CASE πŸ§‘β€βš–οΈ

November 18, 2023

Senior editor Max Meyer will be sharing his favorite moneyline underdog 🐢 upset picks in weekend Hustle editions. So far, he’s up +6.78 units (11-13 record) and has hit all four of his upset picks from the past two weeks. Here are his two for today.

Army +125 vs. Coastal Carolina [12 p.m. ET]
This is an interesting time of year in college football regarding motivation. There are teams fighting for bowl eligibility. There are teams that take a week off from conference play. This underdog has both those factors in play, as Army πŸͺ– needs to win its last two games to finish 6-6. Coastal Carolina has to travel to New York to play a unique triple-option team and the Chanticleers have a huge home game against undefeated James Madison the following week. Coastal is undefeated since losing star QB Grayson McCall for the season, but this is a tough spot, especially for a team that has struggled defending the run.

UCLA +175 at USC [3:30 p.m. ET]
There is not a lot to like with this USC team. The defense is still a disaster after firing DC Alex Grinch a couple weeks ago and it’s not much better on special teams 😬. The offensive line has dropped off big time from last season, which could be a major problem against UCLA’s strong defensive front. The Bruins have only scored a total of 17 points in its last two games against Arizona and Arizona State, but if there was ever a get-right game for their offense, it’s against USC. The Trojans do have a massive QB advantage here with Caleb Williams, but is that really enough to justify a +175 UCLA price tag in a rivalry game without a true home-field advantage? I don’t think so.
