Our Super Bowl LVIII matchup is set, as the 49ers and Chiefs are set to square off in Las Vegas 🎲.

The 49ers have failed to cover their two playoff games as favorites, while the Chiefs have emerged victorious in their past two playoff contests despite closing as underdogs 🐶.

Yet, San Francisco still finds itself as a 1-point favorite over Kansas City after the 49ers opened at -1.5. So why is the spread where it is? We called on trader Wyatt Satre to help explain.

ASK THE TRADER: The 49ers have been the more complete team for the entirety of the season and have been the most efficient team during that period. I would have expected them to open a bit bigger of a favorite (closer to -3) if they hadn’t struggled on the defensive side of the ball in both playoff games. Several books opened at 49ers -1.5 or -2 and the market quickly moved it to -1 last night due to immediate sharp action.
